Our Approach

OUR MINISTRY APPROACH
Because Matthew 28 and so many other Scriptures remind us that the church is to be in the "disciple-making business," there must be a disciple-making plan. Here at College Heights we believe that mature disciples are best made by helping  individuals to find their place in THREE KEY AREAS: a three-step dance if you will, of
TRUTH, RELATIONSHIP, and SERVICE.

TRUTH
It is our belief that we continually need to be filling our minds with Truth from the Word of God. Our lives are filled with choices and struggles that need His guidance, and it is not until we know "what God thinks"  that we will have the peace and purpose of life we desire. At College Heights we intend to help you get into the Word and to help that Word come alive for you as you study on your own and in the company of others.  You will notice a variety of avenues to study at College Heights as a large body, in smaller groups, and on your own. Go to the Truth page to find out what is offered.

RELATIONSHIP
As valuable as great classes are...great disciples are not made in the "classroom."  The deeper parts of the Christian life are caught in the company and friendship of godly people. The Christian journey is not meant to be lived alone but rather in community and with the companionship of godly relationships

CHCC is a body of about 2,000 people, which has its many benefits, but it is the smaller groups and even the one-on-one friendships that truly make a difference in our lives. How we live and the choices we make are mostly determined by the influences of those we keep close to us. Our small groups come in various forms such as Bible studies, prayer groups, sports and activity groups, and support groups.

Please don’t try to go it alone. Go to the Relationship page to see how you can get into a small group.

SERVICE
Our lives will never become complete, we will never really mature, until we begin to serve!  It is in taking up the "towel and the basin" of service that Christ is most formed in each of us.  Knowing about God’s love and not living it out is, at the very least, severe ingratitude. It is not until we get our hands dirty that faithfulness has come.

At College Heights you will find a vast amount of ways to serve. First we encourage you to be Christ to those around you, your neighbors, family and friends. You have a better chance of helping the person across the fence from you than the ministers or even all 2,000 people at the church. Other ways to serve would be through the various ministries at the church on Sunday and throughout the week. Our Community Outreach department would love to have you join one of the various ministries we are involved in throughout our city, and our Global Outreach department has a large venue of ways to serve the unreached worldwide. Balance out your Christian life and find a place to help at our Service page.

There will never be a time in my life where the balance of TRUTH, RELATIONSHIP, AND SERVICE  will not be important!  This is the godly dance of the mature.
